CyberPower is one of the most popular prebuilt PC brands on the market. CyberPowerPC was founded in California back in 1998. The brand offers prebuilt gaming computers for every budget range. It also allows you to choose your favourite hardware before ordering your PC. So, either you can order your customized gaming PC from CyberPower or pick the ones that they already offer.
But are CyberPower PCs worth buying when we have better brands like Corsair, Alienware, etc? And If somehow they are, then what are the reasons to go with this brand? Why We’ll go through all of this by dissecting the Pros and Cons that CyberPower brings to your desk.
Are CyberPower PCs Worth Buying?
Let’s get straight to the point, CyberPower offers pre-made machines that are readily made for gaming right out of the box. This saves you a lot of time and effort in looking for compatible hardware and building your PC from scratch.
CyberPower has a team of experts that know a lot about the compatibility of PC hardware, so you are paying money to them to build you a quality gaming PC.
At the same time, if you are looking for a prebuilt PC to carry out daily tasks like dealing with MS Office, sending emails, and browsing the web, you’ll simply waste your money if you go with CyberPower.
It’s because the CyperPower desktops come with performance-based hardware that is more suited for CPU and GPU-intensive tasks. And if you have no intention of playing games on such a high-end machine, then you’ll simply waste your money buying it.
Here’s the breakdown of what we liked and not liked in CyberPower machines.
Design & Aesthetics
Just like most prebuilt gaming PC brands, CyberPower puts a lot of effort into making its machines stand up to the expectations of the gaming community. You’ll find RGB fans at the front and a side glass panel showcasing the rig in its full glory.
As you can see in the image above, it’s a CyberPower’s Gamer Xtreme build that has three large RGB fans at the front and one at the back for maximum airflow. CyberPower allows you to adjust these lights the way you want them.
Moreover, the tempered glass panel at the side gives you a peek inside, which surely is a stunning view to look at in darker conditions.
Overall, the CyberPower machines come with decent design and aesthetics to them.
But there’s one thing that we really want the CyberPower to change, and that’s the chassis.
There’s a limited variety of “Case Designs” to choose from when you go with CyberPowerPC.
At the time of writing this guide, the only machine from CyberPower that’s more appealing to us is the “CyberPower Gaming Master”.
And we have seen something like this from the CyberPower after a very long time. All in all, even with the current design, the CyberPowerPC isn’t going to ditch you.
Performance
Well, the performance that you need out of any CyberPower desktop entirely depends upon the type of hardware inside it. But as we’ve said earlier, they have a team of PC builders who know which CPU to install with which GPU to get the maximum performance in gaming.
And if you are after a prebuilt PC that gives you the most value in gaming, then you can rely on the CyberPowerPC without having any doubt in mind.
We had a mid-range CyberPower Xtreme PC in our lab with a Core i5 11400F CPU and RTX 2060 graphics card. We threw a lot of AAA games on that PC and it chewed most of them at 1080p settings without any issue.
If you go for the higher-end CyberPower models that come with RTX 3070 or higher-class graphics cards, then you can push any game up to 4K settings without any issue.
So when it comes to gaming performance, you’ll definitely get the type of performance that a high-end gaming PC should deliver.
Apart from gaming, you can also use CyberPowerPC desktops for content creation workloads. And when we talk about content creation, we mean high-end video editing, 3D animation designing, and other hardware-intensive productivity tasks.
Lastly, the parts that are chosen by CyberPowerPC are harder to find on the market. For example, two years back it was difficult to get your favourite graphics card, and the only way to get it was to buy a prebuilt gaming PC.
It’s more likely to get the latest generation hardware whenever you go for a CyberPowerPC desktop. In the Gamer Xtreme Series, CyberPowerPC has opted for second-generation and third-generation Nvidia RTX cards.
Similarly, you’ll find the latest generation CPUs from Intel and AMD in most CyberPowerPC machines. This gives you peace of mind that you’ll get the best performance in gaming if you with CyberPowerPC brand.
A company like CyberPowerPC has access to top-of-the-line gaming hardware in the market. So, you can trust them without having any performance doubts in mind.
Good Airflow
High airflow is essential to cool down beefy hardware running inside a gaming PC. CyberPowerPC has equipped most of their gaming machines with bigger cooling fans at the front to push in more air inside the case.
Also, in some CyberPowerPC machines, there are extra air vents to install more fans if you want. You could try adding aftermarket fans on these vents if you need more cooling.
We are totally satisfied with the heat management system that CyberPowerPC offers in its gaming machines.
Additional Accessories
Just like many other prebuilt gaming PC brands, you get some additional accessories to spice up your gaming experience. With most CyberPowerPC brands, you’ll get a mouse and keyboard.
On Black Friday and CyberMonday, CyberPowerPC also offers accessories like headphones, VR headsets, and related gaming gear with most of their high-end gaming PCs.
If you want to save extra money on buying additional peripherals, then you can get a great deal from CyberPowerPC in this matter.
Warranty
CyberPowerPC gives you 1-year parts and labor warranty with every product you buy. Also, they claim to give you lifetime tech support.
You can simply submit your ticket, and one of their team members will assist you further.
The Down Sides of CyberPowerPC
Well, this could be a completely different kind of experience for everyone, but here’s what most users had experienced so far with CyberPowerPC.
Higher Price
No doubt, CyberPowerPC machines deliver tremendous performance when it comes to gaming or other heavy workloads, but they are expensive to get.
For example, the CyberPower Xtreme gaming PC with Core i5 11400F and RTX 2060 costs around $1200. At the same time, the SkyTech Shadow 3.0 with Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 3060 graphics card is close to $1099.
At this point, SkyTech is offering a way more powerful PC with better graphics card and processor for a less price.
There are some machines offered by CyberPowerPC meant for budget-oriented gamers, but going with those will definitely limit your performance on the other end.
Slow Customer Service
Although CyberPowerPC gives you 1-year warranty and lifetime tech support, their customer service is very slow. They take a lot of time to respond to your ticket.
During our research, we came across Sitejabber which recorded a 2.4 out of 5-star rating for CyberPowerPC. Most users were not satisfied with the after-sales support from CyberPowerPC.
Limited Room for Upgrades
Although, CyberPowerPC unlike other prebuilt PC brands gives you more room for upgrading GPU and CPU, the room still isn’t enough to install bulky graphics cards, liquid CPU coolers, etc.
Also, the power supply that comes with most CyberPower desktops isn’t enough to fuel power-hungry graphics cards.
So, in case, you are going with a higher TDP card like RTX 3090 or RTX 4090, you’ll have to replace the entire stock PSU that comes with your CyberPowerPC.
And if somehow you get the aftermarket PSU, there’s no surety that you can easily fit install those cards. It’s difficult to fit in 2.9 slot cards in older CyberPower desktops.
CyberPowerPC opts for mid-tower PC chassis to fit in high-end gaming hardware. But this also leads to the cramped space inside the PC case, making it difficult to fit in beefy hardware.
Final Verdict – Should You Buy A CyberPowerPC Desktop?
Yes, CyberPowerPC gaming desktops bring solid performance to your desk. They are equipped with the latest generation hardware to deliver smooth performance in gaming.
If you don’t care about the budget, and all you need is a reliable le prebuilt gaming PC, then CyberPowerPC is the most trusted brand to go with.
However, there’s limited room for upgradability in these machines, so make your choice wisely before making the final purchase.
